Time Change Reminder:
Please be aware that on Sunday, March 9, 2025, we will "spring forward" for Daylight Saving Time. This means that the clocks will move forward by one hour. To ensure a smooth and timely start to camp, we ask that all students arrive on time on Monday, March 10th. We cannot delay the buses for any students who are late, so please plan accordingly and allow extra time to account for the time change. We want to make sure everyone departs promptly and has a great start to their camp experience!
Monday, March 10th – Drop Off:  Expect heavy traffic this coming Monday when you arrive at BMMS. Please allow sufficient time to arrive at school between 7:15-7:45 a.m.  Please do NOT double park!  DO NOT PARK IN THE RED ZONE.  Students will drop off their luggage /camp gear in the MPR, and then proceed to their first period class.  Luggage can be dropped off at the MPR beginning at 7:15 a.m.  Buses will depart for camp and depart at approximately 9:00 a.m.
Students are to report to their first period class by 8am. Please note that parents are not allowed to go to their child’s first period class.
Lastly, only those 6th grade students who have completed all the necessary paperwork and payments will be able to leave for camp!  If your child needs to take medication, a medication authorization form must be filled out.  This form needs to be turned into the school health tech PRIOR to camp, if not, we will not be able to send the student with the medication.  Click here for the form.
Friday, March 14th – Return from Camp:  Campers will return at approximately 12:30 p.m.  An Ed-Connect message (email) will be sent as soon as the buses leave camp with an updated arrival time.
Parents are expected to pick up their children once they arrive back from camp. Please note that luggage/camp gear arrives separately; students are not allowed to carry their luggage/camp gear on the bus. It is strongly advised that students do not walk home with their luggage/camp gear.  Please arrange for Friday pick-up prior to camp departure.
Parking will be limited and traffic will be heavy during this time.  Also, please be considerate to Sunset Hills Elementary, please do not park in their parking lot or in the bus loading/unloading zones.  Please do not park in our red zones, bus loading/unloading zones, or double park!  Students need to be picked up as soon as they return from camp.  We ask that you gather their belongings, medication (if applicable), and art projects.
Sibling Check Out:  If you wish to check out a sibling, please call the attendance hotline (858-484-1300 x3806) prior to Friday, so the student will be ready for pick-up.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact our office.
Students not attending camp are expected to be at school!  They will participate in Campus Camp, which will have various activities throughout the week. On Friday, March 14th, Campus Camp students will be dismissed at 2:35 p.m.
We are seeking parent volunteers on Monday, March 10th, and Friday, March 14th to assist with the loading and unloading of camp gear. If you're able to help, please sign up [here]. Thank you in advance for your support!
