ASB
ASB is a student led organization designed to promote school culture, empower student leadership, and facilitate club and activity participation.
The Associated Student Body (ASB) is a representative body composed of students chosen by their peers to organize social and extracurricular activities and to participate in the governing of the school.
ASB helps to drive the school climate through the social atmosphere, the learning environment, community involvement and different experiences that lead to the establishment of a positive middle school experience. The main goals are to:
-
-
- make students feel more comfortable at school,
- increase student sociability
- encourage extracurricular participation
- improve academic achievement
-
All of these will result in an improved student climate and increase students’ overall connectedness to the campus.
ASB officers are leaders on campus, often acting as a liaison between administration, staff, community and student population.
To qualify for a position on the ASB council, students must maintain minimum academic and behavioral standards and must be selected by popular vote from the student body.
ASB works in cooperation with school leadership organizing student activities and raising/using funds for the student activities.
