Dear Parents/Guardian:
Our records indicate that your incoming 7th or 8th grade child still needs the required Tdap vaccination. If you emailed your child's vaccine to our health tech over the summer, please disregard this email. She will update the vaccine upon her return.
California Immunization Law (AB354) requires that all students entering grades 7-12 have a Tdap immunization booster (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis/whooping cough).
We will need proof of a Tdap booster for your child before they can enter school for their 7th or 8th grade (2025-206 school year) unless exempted, as provided by law through the CAIR.ME System https://cair.cdph.ca.gov/exemptions/home
The Tdap must be given on or after age 7 years of age. “Td” does not meet the requirement as it does not contain the pertussis vaccine.
Please provide a copy of your child’s immunization record with proof of the Tdap booster, at your earliest convenience. It will be required before your child can register in person for 7th or 8th grade.
You can bring a copy of your child's immunization record to the office, send by fax at 858-538-9440 or email a copy to [email protected]. Please be sure the immunization record includes your child’s full name and birthdate for our records.
